Who We Are

Founded in 1889 as New Mexico’s flagship institution, The University of New Mexico now occupies nearly 800 acres near old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque, a metropolitan area of more than 900,000 people. New Mexico is a majority minority state and UNM's student population is among the most diverse in the country. We offer 94 baccalaureate, 71 masters and 37 doctoral degrees, some of which are unique to our campus. You can find a list of our schools and colleges here.
